Swansea v Watford: Post match gallery
Watford travelled to the Liberty Stadium in a bid to rediscover their winning form after failing to win in their last four Premier League outings.
Quique Sanchez Flores’ men started lethargically as Swansea and Watford tussled each other in what quickly became a tight affair. Both sides seemingly wanted to end their bad runs.
However, in a first half of few chances, Alan Curtis’s men opened the scoring with an Ashley Williams header. The Wales captain shrugged off Valon Behrami and guided a header beyond Gomes and into the bottom left corner (27′).
The Second Half had Swansea defending against a more aggressive Watford. Jurado had the majority of chances, though the Spaniard failed to put any of his efforts away.
Towards the end of the match, Ighalo had a penalty shout turned down by referee Michael Oliver, though it seemed blatant as Ashley Williams had his hands all over the Nigerian striker.
Watford captain Deeney had Watford’s final chance as he hit a well-struck effort on the half-volley just wide.
Though, Swansea had the final say of the match with Gomis. The French striker should have made it 2-0 right at the death as the Swans hit Flores’ men on the counter, however his shot hit the post.
Final Result: Swansea 1-0 Watford
