Watford to use Pozzo links to sign Liverpool Starlet
Watford are reportedly eyeing a surprise move for Liverpool youngster Jerome Sinclair as clubs circle around the forward as a result of his refusal to sign a new deal at Anfield.
There are a number of clubs looking to sign Sinclair, such as Manchester City, however it is believed that the 19-year-old’s preferred choice of move is, surprisingly, out in Spain.
With Sinclair’s contract coming to a close in the summer, clubs are able to complete a deal on a pre-contract agreement this month with the promising forward and will be able to carry out the deal in the summer on a free transfer.
However, the Hornets will have to pay a small amount of compensation to Liverpool due to the player’s age.
Sinclair was recently given a chance in Liverpool’s first team as they drew 2-2 to Exeter City away in the FA Cup third round, with Sinclair bagging his first ever goal at senior level for the club.
Despite Sinclair’s overseas preference, particularly in Spain, there has not been an overly large amount of interest from other European clubs. However, Eredivise outfit Groningen are said to be interested, as well as a potentially interesting move to Espanyol.
One way in which Watford could look to take advantage of Sinclair’s preference to move abroad is by a potential interest from either Udinese or Granada, in order to have a chance at signing the exciting striker further on down the line due to links with the two European clubs.
